Through TEN’s cooperation with HKBAN (Hong Kong Business Angel  Network) we offer TEN members one possible avenue towards raising business capital, especially at the angel investment level.  HKBAN is a registered non-profit organization in Hong Kong with the objective of providing a platform for angel investors (HKBAN members) and business enterprises to meet for the purpose of investment.  HKBAN
currently has close to 100 members (individual investors) who are actively looking for investment opportunities, especially “angel investments”.  HKBAN organizes multiple investment pitching events throughout the year. 

As a service to our members, TEN’s Capital Committee will assist and screen applicants in confidence in order to determine the venture’s degree of “investment readiness”.  Members of TEN’s Capital Committee are experienced serial entrepreneurs with extensive business experience.

After passing certain requirements and standards, TEN will introduce and recommend  a business as “investment ready” to HKBAN, which will then in turn perform its own screening before admitting and scheduling the business owner(s) to a formal HKBAN investment pitching event, called Investment Matching Gathering (IMG)

Getting organized and preparing a professional sales presentation in order to seek investments from angel investors, VC firms, or any other investor is almost a business in itself.  Without proper preparations and professional presentation skills your chances of obtaining funding are very slim. In cooperation with HKSTPC (Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corp) and HKBAN TEN members may participate in Training courses held by HKSTPC.  These training courses are held approximately 6 times a year, usually in Shatin. The main focus of these training courses is to prepare businesses for investment pitching

In addition to “investment pitching” training courses at HKSTPC and related support from TEN’s Capital Committee, TEN also offers its members occasional seminars and other events (such as "Tiger’s Den" events) that include professional advice on strategy, sales & marketing, and other important business aspects.

TEN members are also reminded of the fact that contacts with other members - especially the more seasoned “serial entrepreneurs” – can often lead to invaluable help and support in all business areas, including help with capital.  Indeed, since TEN’s founding several business ventures have been launched by entrepreneur-partners who
first met through TEN, and some of TEN’s members are also potential angel investors.

InnoAsia (www.innoasia.net) is an annual fee-based event organized by HKSTPC since 2005.  The 2011 event is held from November 15 to 17.  It is a 3-day conference that includes technology forums, entrepreneur workshops, and investment matching with angel investors and VC firms.  Participants may sign up for all or parts of the conference.
